Lynwood Rapper & Songwriter Poppa Dash Drops Leading Single ‘Code’

Rapper and songwriter Poppa Dash is here to make people smile and provide for his people and city. He isn’t pushing a false narrative and is sharing his own experience, competing with himself, aiming to top his own numbers and grow organically focused on promotion and on his formula for success.

Goodmorning to you The birds are chirping Ahh ah ahhh ah ahh

The Lynwood California native got the name Dash during his ‘jerking’ days, he was called Dash due to the way he used to dance. Poppa came into play after he started his rap career and used his skills to help and put his friends and family on.

Dash started making and dropping music back in ’07 during his downtime as a hobby. He just loved the way he sounded on the mic and enjoyed the art of recording and putting rhymes together.

He put a halt to his own career in music in college and focused on his football career. He continued his passion on the side, mixing other people’s music while making some of his own on the side when time permitted.

Dash credits one of his professors, Ryan Corwin, as the reason why he has not given up on music and is back from “retirement.” Corwin had heard one of Dash’s tracks and insisted that he keeps pursing his passion. Dash had chosen to go to school as an escape from rap, but after hearing that he should stick to making music in school, he thought to himself “maybe I should.”

With the support of his friends and family, he went back to dedicating himself to his craft and using his degree in communications with a focus in PR to assist him in reaching his goals as an artist.

The 26 year old rapper has a versatile sound, he tends to explore the capabilities of his voice while maintaining a smooth flow on a variety of beats from new wave trap to slower R&B. The music is a vibe and everything about his brand is genuine. He stays solid and surrounds himself with good people.

Dash latest single “Code” was drawn from an experience with some friends who didn’t stick to the code. After coming across Instagram posts which dug up unpleasant memories, he went on YouTube to look for a cheat code to his PSP game when he stumbled on a beat produced by Chicago’s $egador. As the beat started, the words came to him instantly, and he quickly hopped on the mic. He liked the how he sounded and a melody just came into play.

“Code” is a leading single to his upcoming project. He plans on digging into his vault of tracks and re-introducing his audience to his sound and abilities. He is releasing more music to cater to his fans, drawing more listeners and is growing his fandom through interacting, giving back, and sharing exclusive snippets live on his Instagram and on Snapchat.

His message:

“Don’t let people’s opinions scare you and do what they say you can’t”
