Trilly Teases Projects with Tory Lanez & Joe Moses Following ‘T-Shirt’ with Sada Baby,

Nigerian-American rapper Trilly’s competitive nature has aided him in accomplishing a lot throughout his time as a socialite. After fulfilling his professional basketball career in Spain, he returned to Los Angeles with new goals in mind: entering the music industry, becoming his own boss, and capitalizing on his ability to fund ventures.

Growing up in Los Angeles to immigrant parents, Trilly is driven to take advantage of being in the entertainment epicenter and give back to his community. He started his own label, Trillion Dollar Life, to help other artists learn from his experience navigating the industry and to create opportunities for others.

Trilly provides a variety of vibes through his music. He explores different mediums, genre-bends and blends Afro beats with trap and R&B vibrations. His music is lyric central, highlighting his voice and is based on his lifestyle, portraying his personality through his lyrics.

The Nigerian-American rapper released his debut single “I Like” produced by Motown Records’ Ljay Currie in 2019 under the stage name, Chika. The song was just a dabble into the industry but after receiving an abundance of positive feedback, he decided to take his rap career seriously and transitioned into Trilly.

The COVID-19 shutdown/quarantine was an unavoidable inconvenience to many, however for Trilly it was a blessing in disguise providing him with an opportunity to stay home and work on his music. He spent his time focused on creating at his home studio and dedicating himself to perfect his art.

He returned a year after dropping “I Like” as Trilly with another single “Ay Bishhh” produced by Jay R. The single, which some have referred to as a summer hit, is high energy, catchy and is a representation of Trilly’s dominant personality.

His most recent single “T-Shirt” is a collaboration with Detroit rapper Sada Baby produced by Jaray Music. The track explores Trilly’s lyrical side and smooth flow on a fast paced beat.

Trilly also released a record about the black lives matter movement titled “I’m Tired” featuring Jaray. The single leans more towards the R&B spectrum with a catchy hook and talks about the reality of being a black man living in America. The track is available on Apple Music and Spotify.

The 27 year old rapper spends the majority of his time networking and make connections with other artists. He believes artists deliver better when the collaborators are in sync and are not seeing the track as a job. “When you put more into it, it might be better, the verse might be better, might be longer. It's a lot that comes with it.”

Trilly grew up listening to Musiq Soulchild, The Weeknd, The Dream, Tory Lanez and is heavily inspired by R&B. He had the opportunity to collaborate with one of his inspirations and has an upcoming single with Tory Lanez titled “ICY.” He preformed the track to a live audience after Lanez’ set at Le Jardin Nightclub in Hollywood, however hasn’t officially release it yet.

Born Darlington Chika Njoku, Trilly looks forward to embracing the sounds and melodies of his culture, and embedding what he learned through his travel experiences. He is working on catering to his international fanbase and is not only focused on local or national recognition, but plans to grow his brand worldwide and collaborate with other Nigerian artists such as Davido, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.

Trilly wants fans to listen to the music and give the content they like credit despite whether or not it is pushed by a certain label or major artist. He wants fans, whether his or others, to not fear sharing a track they like despite whether it has been endorsed by a celebrity.

Trilly has multiple future collaborations on the way. In particular, a track coming out with the Los Angeles emcee, Joe Moses, who worked with him when he was just starting his journey and gave him an introduction to the industry. The pair of rappers have recorded a single and are waiting to shoot an accompanying music video for the drop.

Trilly is sitting on a vault of records waiting to be released. He has yet to drop a project because he believes his songs are all hit singles and deserve to each be given the spotlight and own time to shine. He plans on dropping an album when the time is right and his work gets the recognition.

His message:

“Stay focused, keep working, and don’t let nothing steer you another way.”
