Norris and Hamilton Claim British Podiums as Verstappen Continues Dominance

Max Verstappen continued his dominant run of form by winning the 2023 British Grand Prix at Silverstone Circuit. The Dutchman started from pole position however struggled to maintain the position early on on the race, finishing 3.798 seconds ahead of Lando Norris in second. Lewis Hamilton completed the podium in third, marking the first time that two British drivers have finished on the podium at Silverstone since 2016.

This race was also a glowing night for McLaren’s Oscar Piastri who was less than a second away from catching Hamilton. This happens to be the Australian driver’s first season and highest position win. This is a clear indication on the raw talent Piastri posses and the bright future ahead of him in Formula 1.

The race was not without its incidents, however. Kevin Magnussen's car caught fire on lap 33, forcing him to retire from the race. There were also several safety car periods, but none were caused by collisions.

Despite the incidents, the race was a thrilling affair, with Norris and Hamilton putting on a show for the fans. Verstappen's victory extends his lead in the Drivers' Championship to 255 points, while Norris moves up to 9th place.
