Lanez vs. Stallion Reaches Guilty Verdict, Tory to Face 10 Years

Rapper Tory Lanez has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet in 2020. However, his supporters are vowing to fight for his justice.

A jury in Los Angeles found Lanez guilty of three counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and one count of discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

The shooting occurred in the early hours of July 12, 2020, after Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion left a party together. The two got into an argument in an SUV, and Lanez allegedly fired a gun at Megan Thee Stallion's feet, hitting her twice.

Megan Thee Stallion underwent surgery to remove the bullets from her feet, and she has been open about the physical and emotional pain she has experienced as a result of the shooting.

In a victim impact statement read in court before Lanez's sentencing, Megan Thee Stallion said that the shooting had "changed her life forever." She said that she has been "constantly in fear" since the shooting, and that she has had difficulty sleeping, eating, and concentrating.

Megan Thee Stallion also said that she has been the target of "false narratives" about the shooting, and that she has been "dragged through the mud" by Lanez and his supporters.

"I have never forgotten the pain I felt that night," Megan Thee Stallion said in her victim impact statement. "I will never forget how the bullets hit my feet and the fear I felt for my life."

Lanez has denied shooting Megan Thee Stallion, and he has filed an appeal of his conviction. However, he is currently facing a 10-year prison sentence, and he could be deported to Canada after he serves his time.

Nonetheless, Lanez's supporters believe that he was wrongfully convicted. They point to the fact that Megan Thee Stallion initially told police that she had been injured by stepping on broken glass, and that she only changed her story later. They also argue that the evidence against Lanez was circumstantial.

Lanez's supporters are now vowing to fight for his justice. They have filed an appeal of his conviction, and they are also planning to launch a public campaign to raise awareness of his case.

"We will not stop fighting until Tory Lanez is exonerated," said a spokesperson for Lanez's legal team. "We believe that he was wrongfully convicted, and we will do everything we can to prove his innocence."

Lanez's supporters include several other rappers, such as Iggy Azalea, who wrote a letter to the judge asking for leniency in his sentencing. Azalea argued that Lanez was a "good person" who had made a "mistake," and that he should not be punished too harshly. Other rappers who have supported Lanez include Lil Durk, 50 Cent, and DaBaby.

The case of Tory Lanez is a complex one, with strong arguments on both sides. However, one thing is clear: the verdict has had a significant impact on the hip-hop community.

Lanez's supporters believe that he was wrongfully convicted, and they are determined to fight for his justice. They hope that his case will raise awareness of the importance of due process and the right to a fair trial.

Megan Thee Stallion, on the other hand, has used her platform to speak out about gun violence and the importance of believing survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. She has also become a role model for young women who have been victims of violence.

The verdict in the Tory Lanez case is a reminder that the hip-hop community is not immune to the problems of violence and inequality that plague society as a whole.
